My Story
"An American Tale"
The Short Version
I was born in Dubuque, Iowa, but moved to rural Missouri at the age of six. Coming from a family that owned generational businesses, I learned the value of hard work at a very young age. I graduated from high school in Missouri in 1996, and worked in the family business learing the ins and outs of how businesses operate and thrive.
In 1998, I joined the Army and sucessfully graduated from Infantry, Airborne School, and the Ranger Indoctriniation Program. I was honored to be given the opportunity to be a team leader in the elite 173rd Airborne Brigade(Southern European Task Force). I served with distinction while overseas and gained valuable experience in leadership and teamwork.
After my honorable discharge from the Army, I moved to New York City to further my career and education. I graduated from the Mechanics Institute of NYC and at the same time, stepped into the world of business and project management.
In 2005, I moved to Chicago where I began honing my skills at project and business management, and eventually started my first business in 2008. I grew it through the Great Recession, and saw many outstanding accomplishments with this business. We were an industry leader, a trend setter, and had a reputation as problem solvers and out of the box thinkers. One of my largest lessons in life came from when life humbled me, and in 2019, I had to make the difficult decision to shutter that business.
But I didn't let that setback discourage me. Instead, I used it as an opportunity to learn and grow. I now own two different businesses; one that focuses on emerging tech and assisting business owners, and the other focusing on putting forth the perfected Design/Build process that I created with my first business. I now live happily in the Chicago suburb of La Grange.
Outside of work, I enjoy practicing martial arts, spending time with my family, and coaching Little League. My journey has taught me that success is never easy or straightforward, but with hard work and determination, it is always possible.
